About

Did you know? The first Sleepys store wasn't actually a Sleepys store at all. In 1931, a bedding store was opened by Louis Acker, grandfather of current president David Acker. Louis Acker ran his store from 1931 until his demise in 1955. At that point his son, Harry Acker, took over running the business, opening a second store in 1957.

Since the opening of that second store, ours has been a story of consistent growth. We changed the name to Sleepys in 1975, and by 1977 we were operating out of eight different stores. By 1994 we had 75 stores. Five years later, we had a website and 169 stores. That growth has continued, and it is our pleasure to tell you now that we operate out of 700 stores across 11 different states. The reason that we've grown so fast is due to our belief that you deserve a good night's sleep. We are committed to this vision, of helping you get what you want. We want to give you want you want, at the best possible price, in the most convenient way possible.Just to give you an idea of how committed we are to this idea, we have a price guarantee on some of our mattresses. We want to make sure you get the best possible deal. We promise to beat the competition by at least 20% - in other words, to have the lowest cost associated with our mattresses. Obviously this doesn't apply to every mattress. But if you can find one of these mattresses and for cheaper? We'll go ahead and give it to you for free.

That's how much we care, and we'd love the chance to show you more.
